Alchemea Launches Intensive Live Sound Diploma Course

live sound training course
London-based audio school, Alchemea, has developed an intensive hands-on 4-month Live Sound Diploma Course. We have worked closely with leading industry professionals to create this unique training opportunity.

All practical training will take place at Brixton’s historic venue “The Fridge”, which is currently undergoing a substantial refurbishment program. Alchemea is installing a world-class PA system which comprises of a d&b audiotechnik J-series PA system, a Digidesign Venue Profile HD64 front of house console (including a Pro Tools HD recording system) and a classic Midas XL3 Monitor desk. Students will also receive training on the latest Yamaha digital consoles including the industry standard M7CL and the high end PM5D.

Alan 'Nobby' Hopkinson has been appointed as Alchemea’s Head of Live Sound and will oversee the Fridge’s new system. Alan is revered for his work with Tool, Rage Against The Machine and Joan Armatrading. Alchemea’s other live sound tutors have also worked at the highest level with large international acts including Van Morrison, Razorlight, Tori Amos, Estelle, Biffy Clyro, Editors, Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes, Stereophonics and many more.

Students will gain invaluable “real world” experience working on live events at the Fridge. The Fridge’s management is currently working with top event promoter Barry Marshall-Everitt (ex-Borderline & Mean Fiddler) to ensure that students gain plenty of practical experience of concert productions as they happen. In the words of Barry they will see “the good, the bad and sometimes the down right ugly......perfect training.”

To top it off students will gain the industry recognised “Safety Passport” through the Safety Pass Alliance and the Production Services Association, take Digidesign’s official VENUE (210V) certification program and receive a live sound tool kit.

Throughout the course guest lectures and seminars will be presented by industry leaders including Yamaha, d&b audiotechnik, Digidesign, Midas.

Alchemea is offering a 20% discount for their first course, which starts on 1 June. Subsequent courses will follow every 4 months. Please get in touch if you would like to be one of our first graduates.
