Full Time Audio Courses



All practical sessions, lectures, course material and magnetic media are included in the price above. Class sizes are limited to 10 students and diploma students are guaranteed over 1000 hours of individual practical time.

ALSO - Diploma students receive an Apple MacBook and a Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini (Pro Tools LE), SAC students receive a Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini and Pro Tools LE.

I can see ALCHEMEA is well equipped, has a very high employment success rate and I probably will have a great time, but isn't it far more expensive than a University course?

A 3 year University course will offer you far less individual hands on practical time and about the same amount of lecture time as the ALCHEMEA Diploma course, it will almost certainly be of a lower standard too. This will cost a typical student £1,100 a year, probably soon to rise particularly for the more successful institutions. Unless you can live on less than £65/week the ALCHEMEA course will be the cheaper option. In fairness, whilst the university course will allow you enough free time to get a paid part-time job, this may be very character building in some ways but of course you will be 2 years older when trying to enter the job market.

Pro Tools Operator

All course material and exams are included in the above prices.
Pro Tools students are elligible for a 40% discount on Pro Tools LE gear and 50% on all plug-ins. Students taking the 110 course will receive a free plug-in

Pro Tools Expert

All course material is included.
The Expert exam takes 2 hours and is taken on site at Alchemea. This is available at an additional cost of £200.

COURSE REGISTRATION FEES

To enrol on any course at Alchemea students must first pay a course registration fee (deposit) The deposit is based on the total course fee:


Course fee deposits are not refundable. A student may change course dates or course type at no cost by giving Alchemea at least one calendar month’s notice prior to the commencement of the course the student is booked on at the time.


If notice of less than one calendar month is given, the deposit will be forfeited. The student may book onto another course but a new deposit fee will be payable. If the student does not pay the tuition fee by at least two weeks before the course start date, his or her place may be offered to another student. If an application is unsuccessful then we will refund the registration fee minus a £40 administration fee. This includes non-EU citizens who have paid their deposit but is subsequently unsuccessful in obtaining a travel/student visa.

The registration fee is included in the above prices.

VAT? Please note that companies will need to add VAT to the prices below. A company is any organisation Alchemea invoices for training up their employees who will then use their new skills in their jobs with the company we have invoiced - this could be a limited company, a partnership, a University, College or any such outfit. This can normally be reclaimed by the company. Inidividuals are exempt from VAT.
