Sam John: Audio Mastering Tutor (Precise Mastering)



Sam started his mastering career in 2000 after successfully completing a highgraded diploma from Alchemea Audio Engineering College, London. Once complete he started working in a vinyl mastering room working as a cutting engineer. Here he honed his vinyl cutting skills on a Neumann VMS 70 lathe and over the four years working there he mastered countless numbers of underground and mainstream releases.

In 2004 he joined another vinyl cutting room and mastered on a complete analogue mastering console. Here he continued to master dance release acts, to name but a few; MJ Cole, Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown, Si Begg aka Noodles, DJ Amok and many more.

In 2005 Sam joined Alchemy Soho as a freelance mastering engineer working in Ray Staff’s room. He to date still masters for vinyl using a Neumann VMS 82 lathe converted for lacquer cutting, with an array of analogue & digital hardware outboard.

Sam has a wide knowledge base and understanding for many different music genres accompanied with experience and the technical ability to give a professional service with the highest quality results guaranteed. Precise Mastering's studio is heady and highly speced balance of analogue and digital technology (PMC / Bryston monitoring, Crane Song convertors.)
