Prerequisites
It is important that you have a basic understanding of music technology and digital audio recording before taking a Pro Tools course at Alchemea. If you are new to Pro Tools then we strongly advise that you start at the beginning with the Pro Tools 101 “An Introduction to Pro Tools”. Students with a good basic knowledge of Pro Tools can skip the 101 and start with the 110 class. We do however recommend that students buy and work through the 101 book, which can be bought from Alchemea for £30 or online from Amazon.

If you are planning to take the 210P then it is desirable to have some post-production experience and an understanding of relating terminology. For relative newcomers to post we recommend reading “The Practical Art of Motion Picture Sound” by David Yewdall.

Digidesign’s 310i “Advanced ICON Mixing Techniques” course focuses on D-Control functionality. It is not essential that you have taken previous Pro Tools modules however we strongly recommend that you have a thorough understanding and time served experience of Pro Tools HD systems before enrolling.

We advise that student’s have an understanding of the fundamental of Pro Tools and live sound experience before taking the 210V “VENUE Live Sound Production” course.
