The Registration Fee
To secure you place on a short course at Alchemea you must pay a course registration fee (deposit). Your deposit is based on the total course fee:
- £0 to £400: Deposit = £100
- £401 to £800: Deposit = £200
- £801 to £1,200: Deposit = £300
- £1,201 to £2,500: Deposit = £400
- £2,501 + : Deposit = £500
The registration fee is included in the course price. The balance of your course fee is therefore the total course price minus the registration fee.
Our "Study Confirmation Letter"
Once we have received your completed application form and registration fee we will send you a "Study Confirmation Letter". This letter outlines your course dates, course code, student ID and the date that we require the balance of your course fee.
Overseas Students: The Student Visa Letter
Alchemea is an International College, assisting both local and overseas applicants in achieving their goals. We are registered to sponsor migrants under Tier 4 of the Points Based System (we have a grade A rating). Because our short courses are less than 6-months in duration students from outside the European Union must obtain a “Student Visitor Visa”. Once your place has been confirmed and we have received your registration fee we can send you an official letter of acceptance for you to present to your visa application centre. For more information please visit our websites visa guidance page. Please be aware that the law does not allow you to work if you are in the UK on a Student Visitor Visa.
Paying the Balance of the Course Fee
The balance of the course fee is due 2-weeks before the course start date. If we have not received this in time then we reserve the right to offer your place to a student from the waiting list. Cheques can be made payable to "Alchemea" and posted to The Windsor Centre, Windsor Street, London N1 8QG. Our bank account details are available upon request. Please note that changes may apply for transactions from overseas accounts.
Important Notes:
- The registration fee is not refundable. You may change course dates or course type at no cost by giving us at least 2-weeks notice prior to the commencement of your course. If notice of less than 2-weeks is given, the registration fee will be forfeited. If you wish to re-book you must pay the registration fee again.
- If a student’s financing is refused or their student visa is rejected, ALCHEMEA will refund any registration fee minus a £40 administration charge.
Equal Opportunities Policy
Alchemea will endeavour not to discriminate, directly or indirectly, against students or potential students on the grounds of gender, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religious or political beliefs, disability, marital status or family circumstances, sexual orientation, age, ex-offender status, social class, HIV status or any other irrelevant criteria. Staff and students at all levels should treat one another with respect and courtesy. Alchemea will take into account poor home study facilities; poor schools, early family responsibilities, financial hardship or other factors which may have caused a candidate to under-achieve educationally.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Where an applicant has a disability or special need, the Board of Directors will consider all applications on academic merit first. The College will also have to determine if adequate special provisions can be made. Although every effort will be made to provide any special facilities needed, occasionally it may not be possible to accept a student with a particular disability. The College will look into relocating the course if access is the problem, or buying relevant special equipment if that is necessary. Students with a disability or special need are recommended to contact the College as early as possible (including pre-application).
If you require any assistance with the application process, please contact our Registrar Tony Garston on +44 (0)20 7359 3986 or email
