Tassiq Saidi

My passion for music started at the tender young age of 10 when my late father bought me a synthesizer followed by piano lessons and a one of the first PC’s. I had the chance during my youth to perform in a school marching band and sing in choir and harmony group. Then I moved from Malaysia to England to finish my schooling. While growing up in England my ears was exposed to all genres of music ranging from rap, soul, pop, ballad, rock, metal and traditional music. This is is where my fascinatation with the process of music making began. After finishing my core studies in the UK i went back home briefly to Malaysia where i graduated in Music Foundation with a 3.5 GPA at (ICOM). I was then offered to be an intern in London Music School where I gained my Diploma with a merit in Music Technology. I was exposed to computers day in and day out and also had the opportunity to work with professional musicians and engineers.

When I finished however I still lacked confidence in the area of sound engineering. One fine day I therefore called up Alchemea College of Audio engineering. I went there I was given the full tour and have a great in depth chat about my potential future in the industry. I ended up visiting three times to make sure that it was the right move for me. I finally said yes.

I must say Alchemea with their methods of teaching, small class sizes and intense syllabus led to me gaining an in depth understanding of the world of audio engineering. With the guidance of the experienced tutors I began to understand the concepts and gained the practical experience to enable me to make the most of my talents.

After graduating from Alchemea (Dip) I was eager to put all my knowledge to craft my sound in the real world. I was doing freelancing work as an engineer and residing at 2belowzeroproduction as their main engineer during this period i had the experience in working with different equipment from analogue to digital and a lot of musicians, engineer,producers such as Marcus Crowe(songwriter and Keyboardist), Vadim Arkazh(2nd runner up in Russian version of Pop idol), Stacey Gorrod (Singer,Dancer,Tv Presenter), 3rd Street (3 piece Vocal Rnb Harmony Group), Miles Showells (Mastering Engineer in Metropolis Studios).

Then after finishing all projects in the U.K and gathered all experiences I turned again to Alchemea for my Certified Pro Tools Music Training program. The program really got me to work pro tools to the optimum best of the software and it has open my specialities to producing,mixing and writing music. While enduring the excitement of the knowledge gained i had to return back to Malaysia because of family obligations.

I shipped all my equipment gathered over the years.As soon as i was back i’d setup my own production company under the name of CrossFade Productions offering a myriad of services in music audio production such as corporate music videos, jingles, songs for record labels, voice overs, live events, live recording. There is also my reacquainted childhood friend whom I’ve shared my knowledge to, Nik Mustaza Nik Mustapha(Taja), my writing partner and a talented guitarist.

Suria Records
Wrote songs for bands under the duo name of Taja and Tass:
New boyz and Sofaz ( the groundbreaking song ‘Janjiku’) nominated in Anugerah Juara Lagu 22 in the Pop rock category.

AU-District ENT
Produce the long awaited debut album for the Band ‘MEETUNCLEHUSSAIN’ a progressive indie rock malay group, wrote their number one hit ‘Lagu untukmu’ . Released the EP titled 7tahun3bulan90hari and MEETUNCLEHUSSAIN won the ANUGERAH PLANET MUZIK 2008 for BEST NEW DUO/GROUP ARTISTE.

Tayangan Unggul
Was appointed by the Epic movie Director Saw Teong Hin to be the MUSIC DIRECTOR for his romantic comedy film ‘Apa Kata Hati’ due for release in 29th May 2008. PRODUCER for the film soundtrack. The confidence of Saw Teong Hin towards Tassiq Saidi is after he produced a theme song for the long awaited and epic idea ‘Jakun the Movie’ which is still in talks of finding an investor.

Red Communications
Was appointed by the executive producer Lina Tan to provide songs for their ‘Kami’ Tv series and PRODUCE and write the theme song for ‘Kami’ the Movie .

In Fusion Solutions
In alliance with 9tv. In-fusion has appointed Taja and Tass to write the theme song for their animated ‘Sarjana Muslim’ 30 episode tv series. Produced 20 episodes of the background music plus the theme song for the tv show.
