Alchemea Alumni

Steve Sedgewick

Course Studied:
Studio Sound Diploma
Current Employment:
Gorillaz Studio

After leaving Alchemea I spent 4 years at The Pierce Rooms studio in London. After being the Assistant Engineer for the Gorillaz Demon Days album, I went to work as Programmer and Engineer at the Gorillaz private studio where I have been for the past four years. During this time I have worked on a diverse range of projects that have taken me as far afield as Paris, New York, China, Syria and Nigeria.

Alchemea gave me a valuable grounding in Pro Tools, using large consoles, various microphones and outboard gear. I also learnt important lessons in studio etiquette. And through their network of former students, Alchemea were able to give me my first foot in the door at a professional studio.
