Hello, my name is Anthony Matchett and I’m currently working as the Head of Gaming for Wave Studios in London.
I believe that the foundation of knowledge I received whilst studying at Alchemea gave me a distinct advantage when starting my career. It’s really quite incredible that such a substantial skill base can be developed in such a short space of time.. I guess this really comes down to the quality of teaching and the equipment available to the students.
Having worked in various industries.. Engineering for Music, Digital Media and Post Production. I have always felt equipped to handle even the most complex of situations and confident enough to advise on the best course of action.. Obviously, as in any industry, on the job training is essential – you can never underestimate the skills and knowledge you pick up over the years.. You need experience.
These days, when recruiting external Audio staff I always look for Ex-Alchemea students. It’s incredibly reassuring to know that they’ll understand how to properly place a mic or instinctively use the Neve Pre’s rather than patching straight into the back of the desk – to be honest, that’s what it’s all about…
